Illawarra Hawks (NBL) added to their roster 28-year old American international swingman George King (198cm-100kg-1994, college: Colorado, agency: Slash Sports) for season 2022-23. King played this summer at Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA Summer League. In three games just recently he recorded only 2.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.0spg. The last season he played at Clippers in U.S. NBA-G-League where in 44 games he averaged 13.3ppg, 6.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.3spg. He also played for the Mavericks in NBA. But in four games he had only 0.3ppg and 1.3rpg. King also spent pre-season at the Clippers in NBA. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals.
In 2018 he was drafted by Phoenix Suns (NBA) in second round (59th overall). The former University of Colorado standout is in his fifth season in pro basketball. King was called to USA Senior National Team this year.
He is a very experienced player. King has played also professionally in Germany (Chemnitz), Italy (Trento), Poland (Enea Zastal), NBA (LA Clippers), NBA G League (NAZ Suns) and NBA Summer League (Utah Jazz).
He received All-Pac-12 Most Improved Player of the Year award back in 2016.
