Brown re-signs at Mt Gambier- January 25, 2023

Mount-Gambier-Pioneers (NBL1 South) confirmed in their roster 30-year-old Canadian international swingman Cassandra Brown (189cm-1992, college: Portland) for the upcoming 2023 season. Brown is the second import player in the roster as USA Haliegh Reinoehl signed here earlier. She was a team leader their last season. She managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 24 NBL1 South games, she had very impressive stats: 19.4ppg, 7.4rpg, 6.0apg, and 1.5spg. The last season she played at Grengewald where in 19 Luxembourg games she recorded also remarkable stats: 21.7ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.5apg, and 1.6spg. Good season as she was named League Player of the Week and named to Eurobasket.com All-Luxembourg League Second Team. She also played 2 games in Eurocup where she averaged high stats: 16.0ppg, 9.0rpg, 3.5apg, and 1.5spg. Brown has been also a member of the Canadian international program for some years. She has regularly played for the Canadian senior team since 2014 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2010. Brown represented Canada at the Panamerican Games in Lima (Peru) four years ago. Her stats at that event were 4 games: 3.3ppg, 1.0rpg. She is quite an experienced player. Brown has played also professionally in Greece (Panathlitikos and Dafni Agioy), Poland (PolskaStrefaInwestycji Enea Gorzow Wielkopolski), Slovakia (MBK), Sweden (Sodertalje) and Luxembourg (T71 Dudelange). She was voted to All-WCC Honorable Mention back in 2014. Brown graduated from the University of Portland in 2015 and it will be her ninth season as a professional player. |
