Salties keep Riak for another season

Darwin-Salties (NBL1 North) re-signed 27-year-old former South Sudanese-Australian international 208cm center Deng Riak (college: Akron) for the upcoming season. Riak played there last season. He managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 14 NBL1 North games, he recorded 9.3ppg and 6.8rpg.

Most of last season he spent at MBK Banik Handlova in Slovakian Nike SBL where in 21 games he averaged 5.8ppg and 3.3rpg. Riak also played for Korihait in Finnish Korisliiga. In 11 games he had 7.0ppg, 5.9rpg, and 1.0apg. He was a member of the South Sudanese Senior National Team two years ago.

Riak has played previously professionally also in Lithuania (Delikatesas).

His team won MAC East Division Regular Season in 2020.

He graduated from the University of Akron in 2020 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball.
