Willetton-Tigers (NBL One West) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 34-year old Australian-American international 178cm guard Samantha Whitcomb (college: Washington). Whitcomb played recently at Perth Lynx in the WNBL. In 21 games she was league's third best scorer with impressive 18.3ppg and had 4.3rpg and 4.8apg last season. She helped them to make it to the semifinals and was voted All-WNBL First Team. The last summer she played at Liberty in WNBA where in 38 games she recorded 6.3ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.3apg.
She also represented Australia at the FIBA World Cup for Women in Sydney (Australia) last year. Whitcomb's team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 8 games: 11.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.6apg, 1.4spg, FGP: 47.4%, 3PT: 32.7%, FT: 76.2%.
Whitcomb is a very experienced player. Thanks to Whitcomb's pro career she managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America) in six different countries. She has played previously professionally also in France (Villeneuve and Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration), Germany (TSV 1880), Slovakia (Nova Ves), Turkey (Galatasaray) and WNBA (Seattle Storm).
She graduated from University of Washington in 2010.
