Townsville signs Alice Kunek

Townsville Fire (WNBL) signed 32-year old Australian-Irish swingman Alice Kunek (185cm-1991, agency: LBM Management) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Kunek played this summer at Nunawading Spectres (NBL One South South). She managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 6 NBL One South games just recently she had very impressive stats: 24.7ppg, 6.0rpg, 2.7apg and 1.3spg. The last season she played at Sopron Basket in Hungarian A Division where in 27 games she recorded 10.1ppg and 3.0rpg. Kunek helped them to win the Hungarian League title and the cup. She also played 16 games in Euroleague where she averaged 6.7ppg and 3.4rpg. Kunek contributed to her team making it to the quarterfinals.
She was also a member of Australian international program for some years. Kunek played for Australian Senior National Team between 2015 and 2018 and previously for U22 National Team back in 2015.
She also represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast (Australia) five years ago. Kunek's team won Gold and her stats at that event were 5 games: 6.2ppg, 4.6rpg, FGP-2 (73.3%), 3PT: 42.9%, FT: 0.0%.
Kunek has played also professionally in France (Tarbes and Lyon), Poland (Arka Gdynia and Katarzynki) and Australia (Boomers, Sydney Flames, Australian Institute of Sport, Perth Lynx and Cyclones).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Polish EBLK Honorable Mention in 2022.
