Perth Wildcats (NBL) added to their roster experienced 34-year old New Zealander international shooting guard Corey Webster (188cm-90kg-1988, college: Lambuth) for season 2023-24. It is actually his comeback to Perth Wildcats as he has played here before. Webster played this summer at Rams in New Zealand NBL league. He managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year. In 8 New Zealand games just recently he recorded 14.5ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.5apg and 1.8spg. The last season he played at Al Ahly (Superleague) in Egyptian league. Webster helped them to win the league title and the cup. He also played for Mornar in Montenegrin league that season where in three ABA League games he averaged 10.3ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.0apg. The other team he played that season for was Perth Wildcats in Australian NBL. In 29 games he had 14.2ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.0apg.
Webster has been also a member of New Zealand international program for some years. He has regularly played for New Zealand senior team since 2008 and previously for U20 National Team in 2006.
Webster represented New Zealand at the FIBA Oceania Championship eight years ago.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and of course North America) in eight different countries. Webster has played previously professionally in China (Guangsha Lions and Guizhou), Greece (Koroivos), Israel (Ironi Nahariya), Italy (RO Virtus), Serbia, Egypt (Al Ittihad) and Australia (New Zealand Breakers).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand NBL Player of the Year back in 2017.
He attended Lambuth University until 2008 and it will be his 16th (!!!) season as a professional player.
