Big V top team - Devils (17-4) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Melbourne Uni (12-9) 110-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Melbourne Uni. They outrebounded Melbourne Uni 49-37 including 34 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of American point guard Maurice Howard (185-1997, college: Alcorn St., agency: Green Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 assists and the other American import forward Kavione Green (195, college: Bloomfield) who added 19 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Isaac Turner (190-1992, college: St.Vincent) with 21 points. Melbourne Uni's coach Joel Rimes gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Devils have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-4 record. Melbourne Uni at the other side keeps the sixth place with nine games lost.

The game in Melbourne supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Cougars (14-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Vikings (5-16). Cougars smashed Vikings 100-66 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Gerrard Newby who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Edward Bourke who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Vikings' coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Cougars maintains fourth position with 14-7 record, which they share with Willetton T. Vikings lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 16 games lost.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 36: Western PS lost to Hume City B. on the opponent's court 105-111. Camberwell unfortunately lost to McKinnon C. in a home game 101-107. Sunbury J. rolled over Bellarine S. on the road 103-84.

Very expected game in Tullamarine where 10th ranked Steelers (2-19) were defeated by third ranked Hume City Broncos (16-5) 111-105 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hume City Broncos dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Steelers' 44. They outrebounded Steelers 50-35 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hume City Broncos looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Corey Fiddes (198, college: CS East Bay) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Christopher Elder (180-1989, college: St.Francis, IL) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Elder is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Hume City Broncos' coach Brett Atley used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Scott Stone (193-1995, college: St.Cloud St.) who recorded 40 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized British guard Daryl Corletto (193-1981) added 27 points and 9 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hume City Broncos have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sunbury J. Steelers lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 19 games lost.

Strangely Vikings outrebounded Cougars 50-37 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Gerrard Newby (196-1995, college: Union, KY) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Anthony Williams (178-1995, college: Clark Atlanta) chipped in 27 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Worth to mention Williams played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Edward Bourke who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and New Zealand guard Dylan Ryburn (185, college: Southeast CC) added 15 points respectively.
