The Rockingham Flames today announced the re-signing of Devondrick Walker (194-G/F-1992, college: A&M-Commerce) for the 2024 NBL1 West season.
Walker returns to the Flames for a third season after claiming back-to-back league MVPs in 2022 and 2023 and having led the Flames to the NBL1 West championship in 2022. Walker is coming off a brief stint in Indonesia where injury limited him to two games for the Borneo Hornbills in the IBL. A 6'4" guard from Texas, Walker played college basketball for Texas A&M–Commerce and has played professionally in the NBA D-League, Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand and Latvia. He has had three stints in the Australian NBL, most recently with the Brisbane Bullets during the 2022-23 season. Walker and the Flames will be looking to return to the grand final in 2024 after finishing minor premiers in 2023 but going on to lose in the preliminary final to the Joondalup Wolves. Walker will once again team up with Marshall Nelson, Ryan Godfrey, Justin Beard, Travis Durnin and coach Ryan Petrik. The 2024 NBL1 West season gets underway on Thursday 28 March, with the Flames hosting the South West Slammers at home in Rockingham at Mike Barnett Sports Complex. |
