Reyne Smith transfers to Louisville

Reyne Smith

University of Louisville has strengthened their roster with the addition of 21-year-old Australian 6-2 guard Reyne Smith. The Ulverstone native played for the last three years at the College of Charleston. In 35 games in the USA, he recorded 12.8ppg, 2.1rpg, and 1.7apg last season. His team won the CAA Regular Season Championship in 2024, and he received the All-Colonial Athletic Association All-Tournament MVP award in the same year. Smith was also voted to the All-CAA Second Team and CAA All-Tournament Team in 2024. The Cougars also won the CAA Tournament in two consecutive years: 2023 and 2024. Smith helped his team make it to the CAA Tournament Semifinals and Kyle Macy Award (top freshman in Division I) Finals. He was also selected to the CAA All-Rookie Team and NABC Division I All-District 10 Second Team in 2022.
He played at Tasmania U18 team in 2019-2020, Tasmania U20 team in 2020-2021, and then at BA Centre of Excellence in 2021. His team won the Australian WARATAH Co-Championship, Australiabasket.com All-Australian U20 Championship First Team, and Australian U20 Championship in 2021. He was also voted to the Tasmania U20 Team in 2021.
He was a member of the Australian international program for several years. He was selected for the Australian Senior National Team in 2021 and had previously been chosen for the Under 19 National Team in 2021.
