Mongolian Steve Wooten Jr. (198-F-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for McKinnon Cougars and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Big V Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 25-year old forward had the game-high 35 points adding six rebounds for McKinnon in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Blackburn (#11, 1-7) with 30-point margin 115-85. Thanks to this victory Cougars moved-up to the 4th position in Australian Big V. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. McKinnon will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Wooten Jr. had a remarkable eight three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He just recently signed at Cougars, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Bethesda University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Wooten Jr. is in league's top in points (8th best: 21.7ppg) and averages solid 40.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American Anthony Kimble (196-SF-1987) of Blackburn Vikings. Kimble impressed basketball fans with 31 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Vikings lost that game 85-115 to the higher-ranked McKinnon (#4, 5-3). Blackburn managed to keep the same 11th spot in the standings. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Vikings managed to get this year. Kimble is one of the most experienced players at Blackburn and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.3ppg (#6). He also registered 9.3 boards per game. Glenville State University alumni Kimble played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was another Blackburn's star - American Kortland Martin (180-PG). Martin got into 30-points club by scoring 36 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and five assists. Despite Martin's great performance the Blackburn Vikings lost 88-94 to the higher-ranked Shepparton (#7, 4-4). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Vikings can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Martin has individually a great season in Australia. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.1ppg (7th best) and assists with 6.3apg (2nd best).

4. Gerrard Newby (196-F-1995) of Keysborough - 24 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists
