23-year old American forward Sekou Sylla (195-F-2000) had a great game in the last round for NW Tasmania Thunder and receives a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 24.
He had the game-high 30 points adding nine rebounds and five assists for NW Tasmania in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Kilsyth C. (#17, 3-9) 81-80. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings in South. NW Tasmania Thunder is placed at 14th position in Australian NBL One. NW Tasmania is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-6 record. In the team's last game Sylla had a remarkable 52.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at NW Tasmania Thunder, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Towson University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Sylla is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 12.1rpg).

Second best performed player last round was Matur Maker (208-C-1998) of Rockhampton Rockets. He is naturalized South Sudanese center in his first season at Rockhampton R.. In the last game Maker recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Rockets to another comfortable win 110-94 over the lower-ranked Northside W. (#14, 2-7) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in North. But Rockhampton managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Maker is one of the most experienced players at Rockhampton and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Sam McDaniel (198-G/F-1995) of Brisbane Capitals (#6). McDaniel showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Brisbane Capitals, leading his team to a 94-76 easy win against the lower-ranked USC Rip (#15, 1-1). Brisbane C. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in North. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 4 lost games. McDaniel has a very solid season. In 8 games in Australia he scored 20.9ppg. He also has 7.8rpg, 3.9apg, 2.8spg and a FGP of 54.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Xavier Ford (203-SF-1993) of Rockhampton R. - 37 points and 6 rebounds
5. Kyle Bowen (203-F-2000) of Knox R. - 15 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
