The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (9-3) in Mt Gambier on Friday night. Hosts were edged by ninth ranked Eltham Wildcats (6-6) 91-89. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Mount Gambier Pioneers. American forward Ralph Bissainthe (201-1999, college: CMU) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners and guard Owen Foxwell (188-2003) chipped in 27 points. At the losing side international swingman Nick Marshall (196-1999, college: Clarke) responded with 30 points and 8 rebounds. Eltham W. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Mt.Gambier at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Ballarat M. and BA CoE. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Wanneroo (8-2) against seventh ranked Eagles (6-5) on Friday night. Host Wanneroo was defeated by Eagles in a tough game in Joondalup 86-95. Power forward Sebit Reath (208-1998, college: Lee JC) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Taylor Young accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman CJ Turnage (201-1995, college: SVSU) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds for Joondalup W. in the defeat. Eagles have a solid series of four victories in a row. East Perth E. maintains seventh place with 6-5 record, which they share with Frankston B. Joondalup W. at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Sturt S.. East Perth E. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Joondalup W. will play on the road against Warwick S. in Perth and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Undefeated Mackay Meteors have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Loser Seahawks dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Mackay will meet Gold Coast R. (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NGC Seahawks will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 25 Logan T. won against Townsville H. on the opponent's court 93-85. Perry Lakes H. managed to outperform Cockburn C. in a home game 103-85.

NBL One top team - Mackay Meteors (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Seahawks (4-5) in Runaway Bay 99-83. Mackay dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Seahawks' 46. Mackay outrebounded NGC Seahawks 41-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Mackay looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (198-1991) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Isaac White (188-1998, college: CBU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Zac Triplett (196-2001, college: Portland) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Shaun Bruce (190-1991) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Guard Ethan Betts (188-1998, college: Umpqua CC) produced 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Harry Morris (198-2002) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Thunder.
