American Forward Marek Nelson (201-F-1999, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Kalamunda Eastern Suns, receiving a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 37 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Warwick S. (#8, 7-7) 97-92. Suns is placed at 10th position in Australian NBL One. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 10 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Nelson had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He just recently signed at Suns, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Marek Nelson averages this season 24.4ppg and 10.7rpg. Worth to mention Nelson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young international swingman Sam McDaniel (198-G/F-1995) of Brisbane Capitals. McDaniel had a very good evening with 34 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Brisbane Capitals to another comfortable win 110-97 over the lower-ranked Cairns M. (#10, 4-6) being unquestionably team leader. Brisbane C.'s 4th position in North has not changed. His team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. McDaniel is one of the most experienced players at Brisbane C. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Marshawn Blackmon (196-F-1997) of Lakeside Lightning (#12). Blackmon got into 30-points club by scoring 36 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . Despite Blackmon's great performance the Lightning lost 81-84 to the higher-ranked Perry Lakes H. (#7, 7-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Lakeside L. can only dream about fighting for top spots in West. They have rather bad season and 3-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Blackmon has a very solid season. In 11 games in Australia he scored 20.5ppg. He also has 5.5rpg, 3.6apg and a FGP of 50.8%.
