American Anthony Williams (178-PG-1995) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Keysborough Cougars and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Big V Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 28-year old playmaker had the game-high 37 points adding seven rebounds and six assists for Keysborough in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Camberwell (#10, 3-7) with 37-point margin 119-82. Cougars maintains the 2nd position in Australian Big V. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Keysborough will need more victories to improve their 9-4 record. In the team's last game Williams had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Cougars's top player in his first season with the team. Clark Atlanta University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Williams is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.8apg). Worth to mention Williams played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Lewis Varley (186-PG-1993) of Bellarine Storm. Varley impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Storm to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Blackburn (#11, 2-10) 115-89. This victory allowed Bellarine to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 7-4 record is not bad at all. Varley is one of the most experienced players at Bellarine and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was New Zealand Zach Mckenzie (2002) of Hume City Broncos (#6). Mckenzie showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Hume City Broncos, leading his team to a 109-99 win against the lower-ranked Blackburn (#11, 2-10). Hume City needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 4 lost games. Mckenzie has a great season in Australia. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.2rpg (7th best).
