American Point guard Joel Murray (183-PG-1999, agency: Slash Sports) had a great game in the last round for Mandurah Magic, receiving a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 39.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (52 points, two rebounds and eight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Lakeside L. (#11, 5-12) 110-97. Magic is placed at 4th position in Australian NBL One. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mandurah will need more victories to improve their 12-7 record. In the team's last game Murray had a remarkable 55.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Magic, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Long Beach State University star has very solid stats this year. Murray is league's best scorer averaging so far 33.3ppg. Murray is in league's top in assists (8th best: 7.4apg) and averages impressive 2.5spg,58.7% FGP and 43.3% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Marshawn Blackmon (196-F-1997) of Lakeside Lightning. Blackmon had a very good evening with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Lightning lost that game 97-110 to the higher-ranked Mandurah M. (#4, 12-7). Lakeside L. managed to keep the same 11th spot in West. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Lightning managed to get this year. Blackmon is one of the most experienced players at Lakeside L. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward George Blagojevic (203-F-1997) of Geelong United (#11). Blagojevic got into 30-points club by scoring 36 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds . He was a key player of United, leading his team to a 88-77 win against the lower-ranked Casey C. (#19, 3-16). Geelong U. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in South. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 9 lost games. Blagojevic has a very solid season. In 15 games in Australia he scored 20.7ppg. He also has 8.3rpg, 3.6apg and a FGP of 53.3%.
