Australian NBL One round 42 best performance: Jacob Richards

Forward Jacob Richards (200-F-2001) put on an amazing game in the last round for Hobart Chargers, receiving a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 42.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Bendigo B. (#15, 7-14) 99-88. Chargers is placed at 5th position in Australian NBL One. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Hobart C. will need more victories to improve their 12-8 record. In the team's last game Richards had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Chargers, through which he has constantly improved. Jacob Richards averages this season 14.8ppg and 6.7rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Marshawn Blackmon (196-F-1997) of Lakeside Lightning. Blackmon had a very good evening with a double-double of 33 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Lightning lost that game 90-98 to slightly lower-ranked Cockburn C. (#13, 5-15). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in West. Lakeside L. keeps 12th position. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Lightning managed to get this year. Blackmon is one of the most experienced players at Lakeside L. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Austin Rapp (206-F-2005) of Knox Raiders (#9). Rapp got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . Despite Rapp's great performance the Knox Raiders lost 85-93 to the higher-ranked Mt.Gambier (#1, 16-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Knox R. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the South. Their record is 12 victories and 9 lost games. Rapp has a very solid season. In 21 games in Australia he scored 16.0ppg. He also has 7.5rpg, 1.2bpg and a FGP of 60.8%.
