NBL One top team - Canberra Gunners (17-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Spiders (3-16) in Hornsby 91-74. Canberra G. outrebounded Hornsby S. 51-33 including a 43-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Canberra G. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Canberra G. made 8 blocks. Center Glenn Morison (208-1999, college: St.Edward's) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Forward William Mayfield (-2000) contributed with 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Brian Ansuh-Yeboah answered with 17 points and 7 assists for Hornsby S.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canberra Gunners have a solid series of four victories in a row. Canberra G. maintains first place with 17-2 record. Hornsby S. at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Greensborough. Eighteenth ranked Kilsyth Cobras (6-15) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 16th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (6-15) 80-79 in the game for the twelfth place. It was a great evening for swingman Corey Jeffs (203-1994, college: Winona St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 6 rebounds. Deng Riak helped adding 10 points and 8 rebounds. Kilsyth Cobras' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Bryton Hobbs (183-1991, college: Northeastern St.) responded with 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Kilsyth C. moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with SW Slammers and Diamond V.E.
A very close game took place in Sutherland between Bankstown Bruins and Sutherland Sharks. Eighth ranked Bankstown Bruins (10-9) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Sutherland Sharks (8-11). Bankstown Bruins managed to escape with a 3-point win 86-83 on Sunday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Andre Wolford who led the winners and scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bankstown Bruins' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Lochlan Hutchison came up with 20 points and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for Sutherland in the defeat. Bankstown Bruins have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Bankstown B. went down to ninth position due to points difference. Sutherland lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 11 games lost.

In the last game of round 47 NW Tasmania was beaten by Dandenong R. on the road 81-75.
The most impressive performance of 47th round was 11 points and 15 rebounds by Christopher Vera of Sutherland S..

Hornsby S. - Canberra G. 74-91

A very close game took place in Sutherland between Bankstown Bruins and Sutherland Sharks. Eighth ranked Bankstown Bruins (10-9) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Sutherland Sharks (8-11). Bankstown Bruins managed to escape with a 3-point win 86-83 on Sunday evening. Bankstown B. forced 23 Sutherland turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Andre Wolford (188-1996, college: SFU, agency: One Motive Sports) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Thomas Buvac (188-2003) accounted for 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Bankstown Bruins' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Lochlan Hutchison (188-1999) came up with 20 points and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Christopher Vera added 11 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Sutherland in the defeat. No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Dandenong Rangers (12-9) beat at home 13th ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (9-12) 81-75 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Dandenong R. outrebounded NW Tasmania 44-27 including 19 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Tad Dufelmeier (183-1996, college: CUI) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Mason Peatling (203-1997, college: EWU) accounted for 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Tre Armstrong (198-2000, college: CBU) came up with 23 points and Archie Woodhill (206-2001) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for NW Tasmania in the defeat.
