DTasmania JackJumpers (NBL) signed 29-year-old New Zealander international 198cm swingman Reuben Te Rangi for the upcoming season. He last played for Tuatara in the New Zealand NBL league. In the 18 games he played recently, he averaged 12.3ppg, 4.1rpg, and 3.1apg last season.
He has also been a member of the New Zealand international program for some years. Te Rangi has regularly played for the New Zealand senior team since 2013 and previously for the Under 18 National Team in 2012.
He also represented New Zealand at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus (Greece) this year. During this event, he scored an average of 5 ppg and had 2 rpg.
Te Rangi has played ppg in Australia (Bullets, Raiders, Breakers, and Phoenix) and New Zealand (Rams, Sharks, Heat, Saints, and Breakers) during his career.
Among many awards, his team was the regular season runner-up in the New Zealand NBL in 2017. He was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-FIBA World Cup Honorable Mention in 2023.
