New Zealand Breakers (NBL) landed 17-year old Mexican international 202cm forward Karim Lopez for upcoming season. Lopez played most recently at Joventut in Spanish Liga Endesa. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). But in four Liga Endesa games he averaged just 0.5ppg. Lopez also played for CB Prat Juventud (Segunda FEB) in Spain where in 7 games he had only 2.1ppg and 1.7rpg. The other team he played that season for was Joventut Badalona 2nd team (Tercera FEB) in Spain. In 18 games he recorded 11.0ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.7apg.
He has been also a member of Mexican international program for some years. Lopez played for Mexican senior team this year and for U22 National Team last year.
He represented Mexico at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in San Juan (Puerto Rico) this year. His stats at that event were 3 games: 5.7ppg, 3.3rpg, FGP: 35.7%, 3PT: 25.0%, FT: 50.0%.
