Devils dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Cougars' 28. They outrebounded Cougars 44-31 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Devils looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Oskar Jones (185-2004) fired 33 points (!!!) for the winners. Daniaell Herbert chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. American point guard Anthony Williams (178-1995, college: Clark Atlanta) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Gerrard Newby (196-1995, college: Union, KY) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Cougars' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win.
