Adelaide Lightning (WNBL) added 28-year-old American guard Japreece Dean (168cm-1996, college: UCLA) to their roster for the new 2024-25 season. She was the top scorer at Toulouse Metropole Basket in the French LF2 league last season, with impressive stats of 16.1ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.9apg, and 1.6spg in 18 games. Dean helped her team reach the French LF2 final and was named to Eurobasket.com All-French LF2 Honorable Mention. She also played for Union Saint-Amand Porte du Hainaut (LFB) in France.
In 2020, she was selected by the Chicago Sky (WNBA) in the third round (25th overall) of the draft.
She graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles and it'll be her fifth season in pro basketball.
Dean is a very experienced player. She has played professionally in seven different countries on three different continents. She has played in Greece (Dafni Agioy), Hungary (Ludovika-Csata), Mexico (Plateras), Puerto Rico (Atenienses), Russia (Dynamo Novosibirsk Region), and Turkey (Kayseri). She has experienced life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America, and North America.
She was voted to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team in 2016. Dean also played for Texas Tech University for 2 years.
