Canadian Joshua Yorke-Frazer (183-G-1995) had an amazing evening in the last round for Sunbury Jets and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Big V Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 29-year old guard had the game-high 38 points adding five rebounds and seven assists for Sunbury in his team's victory, helping them to beat Bellarine (#5, 2-1) 103-92. Jets maintains the 4th position in Australian Big V. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Sunbury won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Yorke-Frazer had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got nine three-pointers out of 18 attempts. He turned to be Jets's top player in his first season with the team. Seneca College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Yorke-Frazer is in league's top in points (5th best: 30.0ppg), assists (9th best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 70.6% FGP. Worth to mention Yorke-Frazer played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Ryan Batte (198-F-1999) of Shepparton Gators. Batte impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds. Of course he led Gators to another comfortable win outscoring Blackburn (0-2) 86-51. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Batte is one of the most experienced players at Shepparton and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 12.3rpg and 4.3apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Kerry Richardson (202-F/C-1999, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Bellarine Storm (#5). Richardson got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds . He was a key player of Storm, leading his team to a 99-84 easy win against Camberwell (#10, 0-2). Bellarine needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Richardson has a great season in Australia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.7rpg (7th best). Richardson attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
