27-year old forward Shaquille Maharaj (196-F-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for McKinnon Cougars and receives a Hoops Agents Big V Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 36 points and 12 rebounds, while his team outclassed Shepparton (#7, 1-2) with 30-point margin 102-72. Thanks to this victory Cougars moved-up to the 6th position in Australian Big V. McKinnon is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Maharaj had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range and got eight three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Cougars's top player in his first season with the team. Camosun College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Maharaj is in league's top in points (4th best: 30.0ppg), rebounds (8th best: 11.5rpg) and averages solid 58.8% FGP and 57.9% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Ryan Batte (198-F-1999) of Shepparton Gators. He is American forward in his first season at Shepparton. In the last game Batte recorded an impressive double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Gators lost that game 78-93 to Keysborough (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Batte is one of the most experienced players at Shepparton and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 12.3rpg and 4.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to center Zachary Coleman-Bock (201-C-1997) of league's leader RMIT University. Coleman-Bock scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Redbacks, leading his team to a 96-88 win against Blackburn (#9, 0-2). RMIT started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Coleman-Bock turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Coleman-Bock has a great season in Australia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.0rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Darnell Hoskins Jr. (180-G) of RMIT - 38 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
