Forward Joel Rimes (196-F) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Melbourne University, receiving a Hoops Agents Big V Player of the Week award for round 3.
The player was the main contributor (33 points, six rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Hume City (#4, 2-1) 105-97. Melbourne Uni is placed at 8th position in Australian Big V. Melbourne Uni is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Rimes had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Melbourne Uni and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Joel Rimes averages this season 18.8ppg and 4.3apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Michael Reeves (205-F/C-2000) of Camberwell Dragons. Reeves had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Camberwell was edged by Pakenham (2-1) 79-76. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Reeves is one of the most experienced players at Camberwell and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Former Dillard University star Reeves is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Kerry Richardson (202-F/C-1999, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Bellarine Storm (#7). Richardson scored 29 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Richardson's great performance the Storm lost 75-83 to Blackburn (#10, 1-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Bellarine needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Richardson has a great season in Australia. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.0ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 12.5rpg (3rd best). Richardson attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
