Australian NBL One round 5 best performance: Jock Perry (by Hoops Agents)

Center Jock Perry (216-C-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Diamond Valley Eagles, receiving a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 19 rebounds, while his team edged out Casey C. (#4, 4-2) 97-94. Diamond Valley Eagles is placed at 13th position in Australian NBL One. Diamond V.E. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-4 record. In the team's last game Perry had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Diamond Valley Eagles, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of California Riverside star has very solid stats this year. Perry leads league in rebounds with 14.4rpg. Perry is in league's top in and averages impressive 57.7% FGP and 41.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Shaun Stewart (183-G-1994) of league's second-best Goldfields Giants. Stewart had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Giants cruised to a 90-79 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Lakeside L. (#12, 1-4). This victory allowed Goldfields G. to move up to second position in west. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Stewart is one of the most experienced players at Goldfields G. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.8ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 7.8rpg and 6.3apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Johny Narkle (199-G-2001) of Geraldton Buccaneers (#7). Narkle got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds and four assists. He was a key player of Buccaneers, leading his team to a 104-71 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Perry Lakes H. (#9, 2-3). Geraldton B. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in west. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Narkle has a very solid season. In 5 games in Australia he scored 21.4ppg.
