43 points scored by 29 year old American guard Sharif Black (185-G-1996, college: Bemidji St.) made him the highest scoring player of the day in the world. His team the Sturt Sturt Sabres beat the W.Adelaide Bearcats 114 to 88. He also added 8 rebounds and 4 assists that evening. Black is the 9th best scorer in the league averaging over 25 points and over 6 rebounds per game. 9 out of the top 10 highest scorers in the league are alumni of US colleges.
He has played previously professionally in Australia (Cougars, Panthers and Woodville Warriors), and Portugal (Electrico FC).
Among many awards he played in the final of the Australian Big V in 2023. He was also selected as the Australiabasket.com All-Australian Big V Player of the Year back in 2022. Black was selected to the Australiabasket.com All-Australian Big V First Team between 2022 and 2023.
