Myles Cherry (203-F-1998) had a great game in the last round for Newcastle Falcons and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Bankstown B. (5-6) 94-87. Falcons is placed at 8th position in Australian NBL One. Newcastle F. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-6 record. In the team's last game Cherry had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Falcons, through which he has constantly improved. Myles Cherry averages this season 17.2ppg and 10.6rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young New Zealand swingman Reuben Te Rangi (198-F/G-1994) of Gold Coast Rollers. Te Rangi impressed basketball fans with 37 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Rollers lost that game 98-103 to slightly lower-ranked Rockhampton R. (#10, 1-2). Gold Coast R. managed to keep the same 8th spot in north. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Te Rangi is one of the most experienced players at Gold Coast R. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Dominique Keyes (201-F, agency: 6th Man Basketball Agency) of Bankstown Bruins (#9). Keyes scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Keyes' great performance the Bruins lost 87-94 to Newcastle F. (5-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Bankstown B. ranking at the top of east, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Keyes could help Bankstown B. to bring them higher in the standings. Keyes has a very solid season. In 4 games in Australia he scored 13.5ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mason Forbes (206-F-1999) of Waverley F. - 32 points and 8 rebounds
5. Emmett Naar (185-G-1994) of Rockingham F. - 32 points and 10 assists
6. Joshua Tomasi (208-F-2000) of Ringwood H. - 27 points and 16 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
