American Forward Benjamin Okhotin (198-F-1999, agency: Warren Sports International) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Keysborough Cougars, receiving a Hoops Agents Big V Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (44 points, five rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Wyndham (#11, 3-8) with 16-point margin 115-99. Cougars was forced-out from the top positions in Australian Big V. They are still close to the very top. Keysborough would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 10-2 record. In the team's last game Okhotin had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range and got eight three-pointers out of 14 attempts. He just recently signed at Cougars, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Point Loma Nazarene University star has very solid stats this year. Okhotin is in league's top in points (3rd best: 26.8ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was American Malik McKinney (190-G) of Bellarine Storm. McKinney had a very good evening with a double-double of 32 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Storm was edged by slightly lower-ranked Camberwell (#10, 3-8) 96-92. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Bellarine keeps 9th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-8 record. McKinney is one of the most experienced players at Bellarine and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#8). His other stats are also decent: 4.6rpg and 3.9apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was British forward Oliver Stanley (196-F/C-1994) of Melbourne University (#7). Stanley scored 15 points and grabbed 20 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Melbourne Uni, leading his team to a 90-82 win against the lower-ranked Blackburn (#12, 1-10). Melbourne Uni needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 6 lost games. Stanley has a very solid season. In 5 games in Australia he scored 14.4ppg.
