44 points scored by 34 year old swingman Todd Blanchfield (198-F/G-1991) resulted in being the second highest scoring player of the day in the world. His team the Hawks beat the Northern Suburbs Bears 103 to 101. On top of that he also recorded 14 rebounds and 3 assists that evening. He is the 4th best scorer in the league averaging 26 points and almost 12 rebounds per game. As evident, the league is predominantly led by former college players, with 6 out of the 10 scorers having graduated from US schools.
He has spent his entire career in Australia playing for eight other teams: Australian Institute Sport, Rollers, Meteors, United, Wildcats, Rockets, Sharks and Kings.
Among many awards he won the Australian NBL1 North championship title in 2024. Blanchfield was selected to the Australiabasket.com All-Australian NBL1 First Team in 2023. He was also selected to the Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand NBL Second Team back in 2019. Blanchfield was selected as the Australiabasket.com All-Australian NBL Honorable Mention between 2015 and 2021.
He was awarded Player of the Week in the Australian NBL1 2 times already this season.
