Illawarra Hawks (NBL) inked experienced 37-year old USA ex-international 213cm center Javale McGee (college: Nevada) for upcoming season. He is the second foreign player in the roster as New Zealand Jackson Ball signed here earlier.
He played most recently at Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 36 games he just recently played he averaged impressive 17.1ppg, 9.2rpg, 1.7apg and 1.6bpg last season.
In 2008 he was drafted by Washington Wizards (NBA) in first round (18th overall). The former University of Nevada standout is in his 18th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He has played professionally in NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, GS Warriors and LA Lakers).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Hawks.
