Illawarra Hawks (NBL) agreed terms with 29-year old Australian center Jonah Bolden (208cm-98kg-1996, college: UCLA) for the new 2025-26 season. He played last season with Capitanes de Arecibo in the Puerto Rican BSN league. In 21 games, he averaged 7.3ppg, 6.3rpg, and 1.6apg. Bolden also played for another Puerto Rican team, Cangrejeros (BSN).
In 2017, he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in the second round (36th overall). Bolden graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
He is a quite experienced player. Bolden's career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in six different countries. Bolden tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America, Australia and of course North America. He has played professionally in Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Puerto Rico, Serbia, NBA (Phoenix Suns), Australia (Kings and Breakers) and NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats).
During his college time, he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Serbian League Player of the Year and Eurobasket.com All-Serbian League Import Player of the Year in 2017.
