This is still too early stage of the Regular Season in NBL and we should expect many changes in upcoming rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game of round 3 in the NBL took place in Brisbane. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of Bullets (1-3) to JackJumpers (3-1) 84-82 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was a good game for international forward Josh Bannan (208-2001, college: Montana) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. International center Will Magnay (208-1998, college: Tulsa) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. JackJumpers' coach Scott Roth used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Jaylen Adams (188-1996, college: St.Bonaventure) answered with 19 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for Brisbane. JackJumpers are looking forward to face Adelaide (#3) in Findon in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bullets will have a break next round.
Very important is a home loss of Taipans (2-2) against Adelaide 36ers (2-0) on Thursday night. Host Taipans were crushed by Adelaide 36ers in Cairns 110-79. It was a great evening for American guard Bryce Cotton (182-1992, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Flynn Cameron helped adding 20 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American center Marcus Lee (208-1994, college: California) with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Adelaide 36ers will play against Tasmania JJ in Hobart in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taipans will play at home against Perth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last two games of round 3 winless Illawarra H. was beaten by Perth on the road 92-84. Sydney destroyed NZL Breakers on its own court 97-75.
