American Guard Bryce Cotton (182-G-1992, agency: Pensack Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Adelaide 36ers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (53 points, two rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Cairns (#7, 2-5) 91-86. Adelaide 36ers maintains the 2nd position in Australian NBL. They are still close to the very top. Adelaide would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. In the team's last game Cotton had a remarkable 68.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Adelaide 36ers's top player in his first season with the team. Former Providence College star has very solid stats this year. Cotton is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.7ppg. Cotton is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 6.0apg) and averages impressive 2.3spg,57.6% FGP and 44.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young international guard Angus Glover (192-G-1998) of South East Melbourne Phoenix. Glover had a very good evening with 26 points and 2 rebounds. Of course he led Phoenix to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Illawarra H. (#10, 1-4) 116-76. This victory allowed SE Melbourne to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Glover is a newcomer at SE Melbourne, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Javale McGee (213-C-1988) of Illawarra Hawks (#10). McGee scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite McGee's great performance the Hawks lost 76-116 to the higher-ranked SE Melbourne (#4, 3-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Illawarra H. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-4 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. McGee has individually a great season in Australia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.4ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 10.6rpg (#1 in league).
