25-year old Dutch center Jesse Edwards (211-C-2000) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Melbourne United and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had the game-high 25 points adding seven rebounds for Melbourne Utd in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Adelaide (#2, 5-2) 81-80. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed United to consolidate first place in the Australian league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Melbourne Utd keeps a perfect 9-0 record. Edwards turned to be United's top player in his first season with the team. West Virginia University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Edwards is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.3rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 67.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Zylan Cheatham (203-F-1995) of league's second-best Adelaide 36ers. He is American forward in his first season at Adelaide. In the last game Cheatham recorded an impressive double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Adelaide 36ers was edged by league's leader Melbourne Utd (#1, 9-0) 81-80. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Adelaide still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 5-2 record is not bad at all. Cheatham is a newcomer at Adelaide and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to center Javale McGee (213-C-1988) of Illawarra Hawks (#8). McGee scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Hawks, leading his team to a 85-84 win against the higher-ranked Perth (#5, 4-4). The chances of Illawarra H. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, McGee could try to bring Illawarra H.'s a little bit higher in the standings. McGee has individually a great season in Australia. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.7ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 10.7rpg (#1 in league). He also has 2.5bpg and a FGP of 64.8%.

4. Tyrell Harrison (214-C-1999) of Brisbane - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Josh Bannan (208-F-2001) of Tasmania JJ - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
