Javale McGee claims Australian NBL Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced American Javale McGee (213-C-1988) had an amazing evening in the last round for Illawarra Hawks and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 37-year old center had a double-double of 37 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Melbourne Utd (#1, 9-2) 107-93. Hawks is placed at 7th position in Australian NBL. Illawarra H. is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-6 record. In the team's last game McGee had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Hawks's top player in his first season with the team. The University of Nevada graduate has very impressive stats this year. McGee is in league's top in points (4th best: 22.6ppg) and averages solid 1.9bpg and 61.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Tyson Walker (185-G-2000) of league's best team Melbourne United. Walker impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as United was edged by the lower-ranked Sydney (#4, 5-5) 95-92. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Melbourne Utd still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. It was just his team's 2nd loss this season, while they won 9 other games. Walker is a newcomer at Melbourne Utd and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Kendric Davis (183-PG-1999) of Sydney Kings (#4). Davis got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds . He was a key player of Kings, leading his team to a 95-92 win against #1 ranked Melbourne Utd. Sydney needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Davis has a great season in Australia. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.3ppg (3rd best).
