The game between second ranked Adelaide 36ers (8-3) and fifth ranked Wildcats (6-5) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Adelaide 36ers were defeated by Wildcats in a tough game in Findon 87-94. Perth had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. American Dylan Windler (201-1996, college: Belmont) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sydney. Adelaide at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Perth is looking forward to face NZL Breakers (#9) in Auckland in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Adelaide will play at home against Cairns (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Breakers managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses. This time they outleveled sixth-ranked Bullets in Brisbane 113-84. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 29-point difference suggests that Breakers is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. New Zealand forward Sam Mennenga (206-2001, college: Davidson) nailed 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Robert Baker accounted for 12 points and 11 rebounds. American swingman Casey Prather (198-1991, college: Florida) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for Brisbane in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. NZL Breakers (4-9) moved-up to ninth place. Brisbane at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Tasmania JJ. NZL Breakers will play against higher ranked Perth (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brisbane will play against the league's leader Melbourne Utd having rather not much hope for a victory.
The game in Hobart was also quite interesting. Second ranked Adelaide 36ers (8-3) played at the court of 6th ranked JackJumpers (5-8). Adelaide 36ers defeated JackJumpers 97-86 on Thursday.
