American Guard Tyson Walker (185-G-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Melbourne United, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, four rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Perth (#4, 8-6) 98-87. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed United to consolidate first place in the Australian NBL. Melbourne Utd have a solid 13-2 record. In the team's last game Walker had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be United's top player in his first season with the team. Tyson Walker averages this season 14.5ppg and 4.5apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Izaiah Brockington (193-G-1999) of New Zealand Breakers. Brockington had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Breakers to edge the lower-ranked Cairns (#10, 3-12) 102-96. This victory allowed NZL Breakers to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-10 record. Brockington is a newcomer at NZL Breakers, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Jack McVeigh (203-F-1996) of Cairns Taipans (#10). McVeigh got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and four assists. Despite McVeigh's great performance the Taipans lost 96-102 to the higher-ranked NZL Breakers (#7, 5-10). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Cairns can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-12 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. McVeigh has individually a great season in Australia. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.2ppg (6th best) and assists with 5.1apg (7th best).
