Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game of round 7 in the WNBL took place in Sydney. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked United (3-6) to sixth ranked Sydney Flames (3-7) 97-94 on Wednesday evening. Sydney made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for the former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Unique Thompson (190-1999, college: Auburn) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds. Sydney Flames' coach Guy Molloy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Mackenzie Holmes (190-2001, college: Indiana, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Despite that victory Sydney went down to seventh position due to points difference. Newly promoted Geelong U. keeps the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Adelaide. Sydney are looking forward to face league's leader Townsville on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Geelong U. will play against Canberra (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Townsville. First ranked host Townsville Fire (8-1) smashed 4th placed Southside Flyers (3-4) 84-63. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Courtney Woods (183-1997, college: NIU) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Alicia Froling accounted for 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Isabelle Bourne (188-2000, college: Nebraska) came up with 28 points for Southside in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Townsville Fire have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Southside at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Townsville will play against Sydney (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Southside will play against the league's second-placed Bendigo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
WNBL top team - Townsville Fire (8-1) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Adelaide Lightning (3-6) 90-64. Alicia Froling fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Sania Feagin produced 18 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Townsville Fire. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Loser Adelaide Lightning keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Geelong U.. Townsville will meet at home Sydney (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Adelaide will play against Canberra and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Bendigo won against Sydney on the opponent's court 80-64. Bottom-ranked Canberra was outscored by Perth in a home game 67-91. Adelaide recorded a loss to Bendigo on the road 71-65.
