Very expected game when 6th rankedSydney Flames (3-7) were defeated at home by second ranked Bendigo Spirit (7-2) 80-64 on Friday. Megan McConnell fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Olivia Pollerd (190-2002, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Unique Thompson (190-1999, college: Auburn) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Miela Sowah (180-2000, college: Duke) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sydney Flames' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Bendigo Spirit . Defending champion maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Townsville. Loser Sydney Flames dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost.
