Experienced American QJ Peterson (183-PG-1994, agency: JCK Sports Group) put on an amazing game in the last round for Illawarra Hawks and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 31-year old playmaker had the game-high 42 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Illawarra H. in his team's victory, helping them to edge out SE Melbourne (#3, 10-5) 113-109. Hawks maintains the 8th position in Australian NBL. Illawarra H. is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-10 record. In the team's last game Peterson had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Hawks's top player in his first season with the team. QJ Peterson averages this season 15.6ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Illawarra H.'s star - young American center Javale McGee (213-C-1988). McGee impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Illawarra Hawks to edge the higher-ranked SE Melbourne (#3, 10-5) by 4 points 113-109. Hawks's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-10 record. McGee is a newcomer at Hawks and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.7ppg (#4). He also registered 10.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was international center Isaac Humphries (216-C-1998) of top-ranked Adelaide 36ers. Humphries scored 28 points. He was a key player of Adelaide 36ers, leading his team to a 95-94 win against #4 ranked Perth in a game of the week. Adelaide confirms their top position in the standings. Humphries has a very solid season. In 16 games in Australia he scored 15.8ppg. He also has 5.5rpg, 1.7bpg and a FGP of 66.7%.

4. Zylan Cheatham (203-F-1995) of Adelaide - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
