Dutch Jesse Edwards (211-C-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Melbourne United and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 25-year old center had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Tasmania JJ (#6, 12-14) 79-77. United is placed at 4th position in Australian NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Melbourne Utd will need more victories to improve their 16-10 record. Edwards turned to be United's top player in his first season with the team. West Virginia University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Edwards is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 7.7rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 66.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young New Zealand forward Sam Mennenga (206-F-2001) of New Zealand Breakers. Mennenga impressed basketball fans with 28 points and 5 rebounds. Of course he led Breakers to another comfortable win 104-86 over slightly lower-ranked Cairns (#9, 7-18) being unquestionably team leader. NZL Breakers' 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-15 record. Mennenga is a newcomer at NZL Breakers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Kristian Doolittle (201-F-1997, agency: Pensack Sports) of Perth Wildcats (#5). Doolittle scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Wildcats, leading his team to a 92-87 win against the lower-ranked Illawarra H. (#8, 8-16). Perth needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 15 victories and 10 lost games. Doolittle has a great season in Australia. After 25 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.7rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kendric Davis (183-PG-1999) of Sydney - 23 points and 10 assists
5. Kouat Noi (201-F-1997) of Sydney - 24 points and 10 rebounds
6. Izaiah Brockington (193-G-1999) of NZL Breakers - 24 points and 3 rebounds
7. Jordan Hunter (208-C-1997) of SE Melbourne - 20 points and 9 rebounds
8. Parker Jackson-Cartwright (180-PG-1995) of NZL Breakers - 17 points and 10 assists
9. Will Magnay (208-C-1998) of Tasmania JJ - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Bryce Cotton (182-G-1992) of Adelaide - 30 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
