Talented Mexican Karim Lopez (202-G/F-2007) had a great game in the last round for New Zealand Breakers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 29.
The 18-year old swingman had the game-high 32 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for NZL Breakers in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Melbourne Utd (#4, 18-11) 97-95. Breakers maintains the 7th position in Australian NBL. NZL Breakers is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-18 record. In the team's last game Lopez had a remarkable 90.9% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Breakers and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Karim Lopez averages this season 12.0ppg and 6.1rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Dutch center Jesse Edwards (211-C-2000) of Melbourne United. Edwards impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as United was edged by the lower-ranked NZL Breakers (#7, 11-18) 97-95. Melbourne Utd managed to keep the same 4th spot in the standings. His team's 18-11 record is not bad at all. Edwards is a newcomer at Melbourne Utd and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international forward Jack McVeigh (203-F-1996) of Cairns Taipans (#9). McVeigh got into 30-points club by scoring 40 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds . He was a key player of Taipans, leading his team to a 96-93 win against the higher-ranked Tasmania JJ (#6, 13-17). Cairns can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-21 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. McVeigh has individually a great season in Australia. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.0ppg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. John Brown III (203-F/C-1992) of SE Melbourne - 20 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Javale McGee (213-C-1988) of Illawarra H. - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
