American Point guard Kendric Davis (183-PG-1999) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Sydney Kings, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 35.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (31 points and eight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Brisbane (#10, 6-27) with 40-point margin 117-77. It allowed Kings to consolidate first place in the Australian NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sydney has a very solid 24-9 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Davis had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kings's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Memphis star has very solid stats this year. Davis is in league's top in points (3rd best: 24.4ppg), assists (4th best: 6.7apg) and averages impressive 55.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young New Zealand Sam Mennenga (206-F-2001) of New Zealand Breakers. Mennenga had a very good evening with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Breakers to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Cairns (#9, 9-24) 115-84. This victory allowed NZL Breakers to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-20 record. Mennenga is a newcomer at NZL Breakers, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.7ppg (#9). He also registered 6.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Javale McGee (213-C-1988) of Illawarra Hawks (#8). McGee showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Hawks, leading his team to a 100-91 win against the higher-ranked Melbourne Utd (#5, 20-13). The chances of Illawarra H. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 20 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, McGee could try to bring Illawarra H.'s a little bit higher in the standings. McGee has individually a great season in Australia. After 31 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 10.0rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.8bpg and a FGP of 58.5%.
