Forward Deng Manyang (201-F-2007) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Central District Lions, receiving a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 18-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Southern T. (#10, 0-1) with 34-point margin 116-82. It allowed Central District Lions to consolidate first place in the Australian NBL One. But it's just the very beginning of the season and C.District L. won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Manyang just recently signed at Central District Lions and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Deng Manyang has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 33.0ppg and leads league in rebounds with 14.0rpg. Manyang is in league's top in and averages impressive 87.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Braelen Bridges (210-C-1999) of West Adelaide Bearcats. Bridges had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Bearcats cruised to a 104-95 relatively comfortable win over N.Adelaide R. (0-1). His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Bridges is one of the most experienced players at W.Adelaide B. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.0ppg (#5). He also registered 13.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Daniel Johnson (212-C-1988) of league's second-best Forestville Eagles. Johnson showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Forestville Eagles, leading his team to a 94-87 win against Eastern M. (#6, 0-1). Forestville E. has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Johnson also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Johnson as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
