Jacob Richards (200-F-2001) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Hobart Chargers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Nunawading S. (#11, 1-1) 87-85. It allowed Chargers to jump to the first place in the Australian NBL One. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Hobart C. won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Richards had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Chargers and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American guard Thomas Kurowski (193-G) of Norwood Flames. Kurowski impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Norwood Flames to another comfortable win outscoring Southern T. (0-2) 99-77. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Kurowski is one of the most experienced players at Norwood F. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. University of Chicago alumni Kurowski played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was Blake Jones (208-F-2002) of Rockingham Flames (#4). Jones scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Flames, leading his team to a 101-87 easy win against Mandurah M. (#11, 0-1). Rockingham F. has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Jones also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Jones as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Todd Blanchfield (198-F/G-1991) of Illawarra H. 2 - 28 points and 16 rebounds
5. George Pearl (194-G/F-2002) of Warwick S. - 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Emmanuel Tshimanga (213-F-2001) of Manly Warr. - 17 points and 23 rebounds
7. Sharif Black (185-G-1996) of Joondalup W. - 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Awak Machar (198-G-2004) of Woodville W. - 37 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Matthew Mims (183-PG-1999) of Illawarra H. 2 - 27 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists
10. George Blagojevic (203-F-1997) of Melbourne T. - 29 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
