The round was exceptionally exciting as eight games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round 5 in NBL One means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Dandenong where host Rangers (4-1) crushed league's leader Braves (3-1) 109-84 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Braves. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Dandenong R. made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Dandenong R. outrebounded Bendigo 47-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. Dandenong R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Bendigo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Joe Palmer (193-2001, college: Colorado St.) who scored 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international center Harrison Froling (210-1998, college: Marquette) chipped in 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Biwali Bayles (185-2002, college: Hawaii) produced 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dandenong R. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Bendigo at the other side dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Kalamunda ES. Bendigo will play next round against Nunawading S. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Dandenong R. will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Frankston B. in Seaford.
The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Raiders as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Raiders defeated 8th ranked Spectres in Melbourne 109-95. It was a key game for the top position in the league. American forward Trazarien White (198, college: TCU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Brody Nunn contributed with 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Dylan Penn (190, college: Vermont) answered with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for Nunawading S.Spectres' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Nunawading S. at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Eltham W.. Nunawading S. will play next round against Bendigo trying to get back on the winning streak. Knox R. will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Sandringham S. at Cheltenham.
Undefeated Rollers (0-1) recorded its first loss in Gold Coast on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by leader Thunder (1-0) 106-79. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Shaun Bruce stepped up and scored 32 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Jensen Bradtke responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Rollers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Thunder left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Rollers still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Logan T. will meet at home league's second-placed Brisbane C. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gold Coast R. will play against Ipswich F. (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Canberra G. won against Maitland in a road game 75-73. Sydney C. outscored Penrith at home 95-56. Inner WB was rolled over Manly Warr. on the opponent's court 86-67. Mackay defeated Rockhampton in a home game 106-91. Winless Townsville H. lost to undefeated Cairns M. on the road 68-100. Winless SD Spartans lost to undefeated Brisbane C. on its own court 107-113. Melbourne T. defeated Sandringham S. in a road game 81-66. Eltham W. beat Frankston B. at home 95-81. Geraldton B. won against Mandurah on the opponent's court 78-68. Goldfields G. was outscored by Rockingham F. in a home game 67-112. Geraldton B. managed to beat SW Slammers on the road 87-83. Willetton T. defeated Mandurah on its own court 97-96. Lakeside L. was beaten by Perry Lakes H. in Floreat 95-77. Lakeside L. won against Cockburn at home 73-72. East Perth E. managed to outperform Joondalup W. on the opponent's court 94-86. Kalamunda ES managed to beat SW Slammers in a home game 91-76. Warwick S. was defeated by Perth R. on the road 93-76.

They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists.
