25-year old American forward Jackson Meshanic (201-F-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Camberwell Dragons and receives a Hoops Agents Big V Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed Warrandyte (2-2) with 16-point margin 85-69. Camberwell is placed at 4th position in Australian Big V. Camberwell is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Meshanic had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Camberwell, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Hobart College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Meshanic leads league in rebounds with 10.8rpg. Second best performed player last round was Fred Sims Jr. (193-G-1997) of Melbourne University. He is American guard in his first season at Melbourne Uni. In the last game Sims Jr. recorded an impressive double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Melbourne Uni lost that game 92-120 to Gippsland Utd (3-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Sims Jr. is one of the most experienced players at Melbourne Uni and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#6). He also registered 8.3 boards per game. Former Chicago State University star Sims Jr. is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Mitchell Barry (190-G) of McKinnon Cougars (#9). Barry scored 20 points and passed 9 assists. Despite Barry's great performance the Cougars lost 100-103 to RMIT (#2, 3-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of McKinnon not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Barry could try to bring McKinnon's a little bit higher in the standings. Barry has individually a great season in Australia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.0apg (7th best).
