American Guard Jeremy Smith (190-G-1991) put on an amazing game in the last round for South Adelaide Panthers, receiving a Hoops Agents NBL One Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 34-year old player was the main contributor (44 points, six rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Woodville W. (#4, 5-3) 107-97. South Adelaide Panthers maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Australian NBL One. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. S.Adelaide P. will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 90.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at South Adelaide Panthers, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Nicholls State University star has very solid stats this year. Smith is in league's top in points (6th best: 27.0ppg), rebounds (6th best: 5.3rpg) and averages impressive 71.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Liam Hunt (201-F/C-1995) of Geraldton Buccaneers. Hunt had a very good evening with a double-double of 31 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Buccaneers lost that game 87-97 to the lower-ranked Mandurah M. (#13, 1-6). Geraldton B. managed to keep the same 6th spot in West. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 3-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Hunt is one of the most experienced players at Geraldton B. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Jarred Bairstow (201-F-1992) of Brisbane Capitals (#3). Bairstow showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 13 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Capitals, leading his team to a 109-85 easy win against the lower-ranked SD Spartans (#6, 2-2). Brisbane C. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in North. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Bairstow has a great season in Australia. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.8rpg (3rd best) and assists with 9.8apg (best passer).
