There was a change at the Big V leadership position after last games. The most shocking disappointment of round 6 was a defeat of league's leader Venom (5-5). They were crushed by second ranked Suns (7-1) 89-46 on Saturday night. Sherbrooke S. outrebounded Warrandyte V. 50-30 including a 39-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sherbrooke S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Warrandyte V.'s players. American guard Oliana Squires (175-1998, college: Montana St.) had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Emma Pearce chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Leah Swain (192-1988) with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Venom's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Sherbrooke S. keeps a position of league leader. Warrandyte V. at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Sherbrooke S..

Leading Venom (5-5) recorded its fifth loss in Tullamarine on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Hume City Broncos (5-4) 77-70. The best player for the winners was Kelly Heimburger who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was Amy Patton who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Hume City B. moved-up to third place, which they share with Western Port. Loser Venom dropped to the fifth position with five games lost.
