Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Cougars (7-1). They were crushed by fourth ranked Senators (7-3) 97-76 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Cougars. Warwick S. made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Guard Jayda Clark (163-2005) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Chloe Forster (178-2003) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was center Jessie Edwards (193-1995, college: Minnesota) with 28 points and 9 rebounds. Senators have a solid series of three victories in a row. Warwick S. moved-up to third place, which they share with Casey. Cockburn at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Sandringham S.. Cockburn will play next round against Perry Lakes H. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Warwick S. will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Rockingham F. on the road.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Flames as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Flames smashed 5th ranked Giants in Rockingham 108-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Giants. American power forward Teige Morrell (191-1995, college: Nevada) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Amy Atwell accounted for 20 points and 6 assists. Flames' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Delaynie Byrne (190-2000, college: N.Colorado) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for Goldfields G. in the defeat. Flames (8-2) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Bankstown B. Goldfields G. at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Goldfields G. will play next round against Kalamunda ES trying to get back on the winning streak. Rockingham F. will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Warwick S. at Perth.
Quite upsetting was SC Phoenix's home defeat in a game versus Townsville F. 82-78. The best player for the winners was Courtney Woods who had a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Kayla Mathews who recorded 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Townsville F. (3-2) moved-up to fifth place. Loser Sunshine CP dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Ipswich F.. Townsville F. will meet at home higher ranked Mackay (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SC Phoenix will play against Ipswich F. (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Mackay crushed Rockhampton C. on the road 103-71. Winless NGC Seahawks were beaten by SD Spartans on its own court 70-77. Brisbane C. was destroyed by Ipswich F. in Booval 82-62. Gold Coast R. unfortunately lost to SW Metro P. at home 51-60. Townsville F. managed to beat Northside W. on the opponent's court 89-84. Logan T. defeated Gold Coast R. in a home game 73-59. Mt Gambier was beaten by Eltham W. on the road 97-90. Casey destroyed Bendigo on its own court 96-63. Kilsyth was outscored by Keilor T. in Melbourne 92-71. Frankston B. recorded a loss to Waverley F. at home 66-70. Ringwood was crushed by Sandringham S. on the opponent's court 104-72. Ballarat M. was smashed by Melbourne T. in a home game 65-86. Casey lost to Nunawading S. on the road 85-91. Bendigo was outscored by Mt Gambier on its own court 69-95. Dandenong R. recorded a loss to Northern Force in a road game 98-83. Geelong U. was defeated by Knox R. at home 64-82. Diamond VE beat Hobart C. on the opponent's court 81-70. Northern Force won against Diamond VE in a home game 92-91. Dandenong R. unfortunately lost to Hobart C. on the road 95-100. Kalamunda ES managed to beat Mandurah on its own court 80-71. Goldfields G. crushed Joondalup W. in Kalgoorlie 87-65. Willetton T. was beaten by Rockingham F. at home 70-86. Warwick S. won against Perry Lakes H. on the opponent's court 80-76. Cockburn managed to outperform East Perth E. in a home game 91-81. Lakeside L. rolled over Perth R. on the road 79-60.

Very expected game in Alexandria where 12th ranked Comets (3-7) were crushed by second ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (9-1) 80-51 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Manly Warr. SE made 10 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Alex Delaney (183-1995, college: SFC) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Bree Delaney (178, college: Fresno St.) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players scored in double figures.
